Opt-ins
The opt-in behind your checkbox, with proof
Newsletter sign-ups, lead forms, checkout boxes, promotions, loyalty programmes, messaging channels, research panels: every one is a person agreeing to be contacted, profiled or shared with. Opt-ins records that agreement in your own form, with the wording the person read, a signed receipt they keep, and a withdrawal that travels.
A ticked box in your CRM is not a record
It says yes. It does not say which wording was beside it, which version was live that day, whether the box was ticked already, or that the person ever received anything. When they unsubscribe in one tool, nothing changes in the others. Opt-ins turns the boolean into a record: the text as shown, the moment, the person's own change, signed.
Eight opt-ins, one record
Pick the one that matches your form. Every template is built to be captured where the person already is.
-
Newsletter sign-up
The marketing opt-in behind a newsletter form; confirmations stay a service message.

The marketing and personalisation boxes at registration, beside the service notices the account needs.
-

The marketing box at checkout; order messages stay a notice.

Contests and sweepstakes: marketing, publication of the entry and sponsor sharing, each its own decision.

Four ways in, the field first
Keep your form. Choose how the record reaches Overturo.
-
The Overturo field
One element where the checkbox was. Overturo renders the control, shows it unticked and records the person's own change.
-
The capture snippet
One script maps your existing inputs to purposes and snapshots the form as shown; your server commits.
-
TypeformBeta
Connect a form once; its signed webhook commits every submission.
-
The Record API and the import
Your server records what it captured, or imports the consents you already hold with a dry run first.
What the record proves
Overturo proves when the decision was recorded, which wording was in force, who attested it and that nothing has changed since; for a record an organisation captured in its own form, Overturo does not vouch that the control was shown unticked; for a record captured through the Overturo field, Overturo rendered the control, showed it unticked and recorded the person's own change, and does not vouch for what the page placed around it.
Every receipt names where the opt-in was captured and who attested it, so a reader never has to guess what Overturo saw.
A pre-ticked box is never an opt-in
A consent control is shown unticked, never mandatory. A right to object is shown ticked with its wording. Your terms checkbox stays your own: it is a contract, not a consent. Overturo applies the same rule in your form as on its own pages.
What the person gets
A receipt by email with the wording as published and your organisation named, a page to withdraw from at any time, and a way to say a record was not theirs. When they withdraw, your connected mailing tool is told.
What a receipt means for you →Questions
- Can I keep my own form?
- Yes. Place the field where the checkbox was, or add the snippet to the checkbox you already have. Your form, your submit button, your server.
- Do I need a server?
- For the field and the snippet your server commits the capture with your application credential. Without one, a connected form platform commits through its signed webhook, or you enable browser commit on the application.
- What about double opt-in?
- The record is the person's decision in your form. If your mailing tool asks them to confirm, the delivery notes the platform's status; Overturo sends no confirmation of its own.
- Does it work with Typeform or Mailchimp?
- Typeform connects as a form platform: its signed webhook commits each submission. Mailchimp connects as an audience platform: every opt-in and every withdrawal is written to the audience's marketing permissions.
- What does the receipt prove?
- When the decision was recorded, which wording was in force, who attested it and that nothing has changed since. For the field, that Overturo rendered the control and showed it unticked.
- How many records are included?
- The free plan includes 500 opt-in records a month; paid plans add thousands more, with overage and a pack on the way up.
- What if someone unsubscribes in our mailing tool instead?
- That reaches the record too. The connection's inbound endpoint receives the audience's unsubscribe and permission changes, reads the member back, and withdraws on the person's records with the mailing tool named as the channel. A subscription made in the mailing tool is never recorded as a consent: it is listed for you to resolve by capturing consent in your form.
Priced for forms, not for meetings
